The photo series “M.A.M” consists of photos that portray her mother's loneliness in a claire-obscure setting. The photo series came about after they dressed up with masks together every week for a year. The performances took place in the parental home. "It was an attempt to fight her loneliness." Later Veerle Michiels did a number of performances  such as reenactments.
